Lake Viking Campground Electrical System Request for Proposal
Lake Viking Association Board of Directors is requesting proposals to update/replace the current electrical system in Campgrounds 1 and 2. The current system is several years old that has had repairs and modifications made over the years that have left the system outdated. The Board of Directors would like to invite certified electricians or electrical companies to provide quotes for the project. The RFP has a description of the proposed project.
Proposals shall include;
- Detailed supply list and cost estimates
- Statement of work
- Projected timeline for completion

Lake Viking Campground Electrical System
Request for Proposal
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is to replace the current existing electrical system in Campgrounds 1 and 2. The current system has been in place since the campground was built several years ago. Over the years, the current system has been repaired and replaced leaving us with a system that is outdated and unsafe.
Current System Description –
Campground 1 includes 1 shower house and 173 campsites, that have one electrical post per site that includes either a 30- or 50- amp and 15-amp receptacle that runs underground back to an electric breaker panel. The campground also includes 4 30-amp weekend sites and 1 30-amp trailer site. Part of the current system has been in place for several years and some areas are only a few years old. The system is connected to several electrical meters and a transformer maintained by Farmers Electric. The current electric system also includes safety lights that are on light sensors.
Campground 2 includes 1 shower house and 31 campsites that have one electrical post that includes either a 30- or 50-amp and a 15-amp receptacle which runs underground back to an electric breaker panel that is supplied power to an electrical meter and transformer maintained by Farmers Electric. The current electric system also includes safety lights that are on light sensors.
RFP for System design
This RFP is to completely replace the current electrical system in Campgrounds 1 and 2. This includes everything from Farmers’ electrical meters to the electrical post at each campsite and bathhouse.
RFP System Requirements –
Proposal should include the following requirements;
Provide separate quotes for each campground.
All new electrical systems including panels, wiring, breakers, connectors, and receptacles.
Evaluate Campground 1, section 3 of the existing system.
Wiring will be installed underground from the meter to the campsite post.
Each post shall include a 15-, 30- and 50-amp receptacle with GFCI breakers as required by the current Electric Code
System will be able to handle 50-amp campers at all sites
Blueprints of the entire system including bathhouses and outdoor safety lights will be provided to Lake Viking Maintenance and Campground Managers.
The system shall meet the current edition of the National Electrical Code section on RV/campground systems.
Conduct a prebuild meeting with Lake Viking Campground Manager and Managing Director.
Main Breakers will be marked with the campsite number they control.
Surge protection or GCFI shall be installed in both shower houses and breaker panels.
The system must be installed in 120 days after being awarded the contract.
Consult with Farmers Electric to ensure that transformers can handle the new system.
Shower house wiring shall be designed to allow for future expansion.
System will be installed to allow repairs without moving campers if possible
