I guess the easiest way to start out is to simply say that the Association Activities Committee is on a roll, and they have been for quite a while. It’s a big committee with creative and hard working members – and they just added two more members – thus the ability to put together great social events for the benefit of Association Members. The latest event was Beer and Brats on Oct. 5.
The Oktoberfest themed event had great food – including brats and sauerkraut of course – and once again, beer was provided by the Levi Garrison Brewery of nearby Hamilton. (See photos) The Beer n Brats was a great time and was followed the next week by the first installment of Lake Viking Tailgating. Now that there is a big screen TV (provided by the Activity Committee) in the upstairs area of the clubhouse, why not open the place up on Sundays for Chiefs games? Additional tailgate events are forthcoming – two in November and three in December.
Always plenty of things to do at Lake Viking. There’s also an Activities Committee Halloween Spooktacular on Oct 25 at the clubhouse and the Annual Fire Department Chili Cook-off on Nov. 2. Watch Lake Viking Group Facebook for details!
By the way, in reference to earlier mention of Levi Garrison & Sons, the brewery has been a presence at numerous Association Activities Committee events. Owner Scott Falke invites Lake Viking Association members to visit at their location in Hamilton. There, the brewery’s entire operation is behind glass and can be viewed from the barroom which has 12 different varieties of the brewery’s beer on tap.
