Viking Valley Association Board of Directors’ Meetings are held the second Sunday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level of the clubhouse. All members in good standing are welcome to attend. Minutes of board meetings are linked below. These reports are private posts, for viewing by registered Lake Viking members only. Contact the lake office to gain access.
Board Members serving Lake Viking:
Tony Gronniger, President
Tony has served as Chief of the Lake Viking Fire Department since 2017. He has also served on the Lake Viking Strategic Planning Committee, where he worked on the Incorporation Study and the current Long Range Strategic Plan. Tony is a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Gallatin and has 6 children and 8 grandchildren. He is a second generation Viking Valley Association Member. Tony’s parents bought a lot in 1968, and Tony has been a lot owner since 1975 and a full-time resident since 2008. He is employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Celeste Armanees, Secretary
Celeste and her husband, Frank, have 2 grown children, complete with grandkids & nieces and nephews…all who enjoy the lake as a “gathering place.” They have been Association Members for 10 years. Celeste is recently retired after 28 years as a medical sales rep, where she learned how to listen to different perspectives and input from all sides. She regards the lake as “our happy place, and we are here almost every weekend…year-round.” Celeste is Board Contact for the Handbook Committee and Activities Committee. Her motto for service on the Board is “we’re all in this together!”
Allan served in the United States Air Force for 30 years until his retirement in 2018. During his last 8 years in the service, he was commander of the 442nd Fighter Wing of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. Allan has also served as an American Red Cross “Disaster Service Representative” and has been deployed in six different disaster areas around the country. Allan and his wife Cindy have been married for 30 years, have 5 grown children and 7 grandchildren and are members of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Gallatin. They have been Association Members since 1993 and are currently building a house on lot 181.
Mark Leggett, 1st Vice President
Mike Booth, 2nd Vice President
Mike is retired from the Kansas City, MO Fire Department (28 years of service), where he was a Fire Apparatus Operator and Emergency Medical Technician. He is currently a Regional Coordinator for the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency. Mike and his wife, Angie, have been Association members for 9 years. They have five grown children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Mike is on his second 3 year term as a Board Member. He has served on the Lake Viking Fire Dept. and also as a Board Contact to that Department. He is a Campground Committee member and was Board contact, member, and group chair 2018 Campground Review.
Troy Lesan, Treasurer
Troy and his wife, Shirley Leakey, have lived at Lake Viking since 2001 and have been active with many Association events. Troy is has been on the Board for five years, was Board President in 2019, and has been on the Lake Committee for nine years and the Finance Committee for 5 years. He has also been on the PWSD#3 Board of Directors for twelve years. Troy has written articles for the Lake Viking News (and occasionally The Gallatin Northwest Missourian) since 2004. He wrote the Lake Viking 40 Year History (2007) and the Lake Viking 50 Year History in 2017He worked on the railroad for 35 years, retiring from Union Pacific in 2008. Troy and Shirley are members of the Lake Viking Church.
Marvin and wife Candace purchased Lot 28 in 2000 and enjoyed evening and weekend use until six years ago when they relocated to Parker, Colorado. He retired in 2016 from Ferrellgas and Candace retired in July of 2018. They built their retirement home earlier that year and have been fulltime residents at Lake Viking since July 2018. Marvin will serve as Board Contact for the Building Committee. He has previously served seven years on the Board of Directors of Parvin Estates, a 300 unit not for profit, mixed apartment complex in Kansas City. He also served four years on the neighborhood homes association of Northbrook Neighborhoods in Kansas City and was a finance committee member and chairperson for six years and council president for four years for his church in Kansas City.
